The Experience
This adventure for two, inside a vintage Land Rover, will take you to breathtaking landscapes in the Douro Valley. Visit historical sites and two wine estates, savor a wine tasting experience, and enjoy other surprises.
The experience begins in Pinhão with the climb to the Casal de Loivos viewpoint. Here you'll be fascinated by its spectacular landscape of the Douro vineyard and take a captivating photo of the river that winds through the valley and disappears on the horizon.
The tour proceeds with a visit to the historical Pinhão Railway Station, decorated with traditional Portuguese blue tiles that depict the landscape, culture, and products of the Douro. These 24 panels - present at the station since 1937 - are a narrative represented in images of the wine tradition of the Douro Valley, from the grape harvest to the transport of wine in Rabelo boats being its final destination, the Porto's cellars.
A guided tour at Quinta do Tedo with Port wine tasting is the next stop. You will discover the methods behind Port and Red wine production. Visit the traditional wine presses, and learn about the vineyards and Olive Groves. And, also explore the wineries where the wine ages and subsequently is bottled and labeled.
This memorable day ends with a visit to Quinta d'Origem, renowned for its high-quality regional products, red wine, olive oil, and honey. Here you will discover all the traditional methods of olive oil production and see the ancestral machinery. As it could not be missing, you will taste all these products (wine, olive oil, and honey) and experience the best flavors of the region.
